Opening: Wednesday, November 30th, 2016 from 6.30 p.m
Osart Gallery, with the future moving of the exhibition space, says goodbye to Via Lamarmora's venue with a show curated by Daniela Palazzoli called Solid Words.
The analysis of Solid Words is inspired by the renewed interest that writing brings in the Seventies. Together with the cross-breedings between images, textures of words and graphic signs implemented by visual poetry, we can identify a progressive convergence between words and objects.
In order to understand the origin of this conceptual assimilation, we choose to examine experimentations of five italian artists: Vincenzo Agnetti, Alighiero Boetti, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Emilio Isgrò and Maurizio Nannucci. They all created, through different medium and techniques, works that combine writing and matter.
Inside the exhibition itinerary, which includes works produced between 1970 and 1985, objects alternate with bi or three-dimensional forms develop into space resembling sculptural forms by giving out engaging energies and creative processes.
Visual impact that words impress on support joins composition elements and materials which art works here on display are made of.
The effective dialogue each artist establishes with his own life experiences is linked to a close comparison to matter.
These life experiences create instantly an intense connection with those who look and interact with the works.
This group show aims to draw visitors' attention on a different way to look at things, to see things inviting them to alight on influences that language in accordance with the object-oriented support has the natural ability to activate.
